Greetings favored Fold!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday 5, but I’m determined to get back into the swing of things. One sure-fire way to get better at something that you love doing is to find others that do it. If you want to write, you need to read. If you like painting, you need to look at paintings. If you like comics, well, you need to read them.

And find stuff that’s outside of your normal realm. Experience other styles and everything. You could learn a thing or two.

Whoa, sorry for the lecture. Here’s my favorite comics that I found this week:

    1. Women are so complicated! from MercWorks
I love Dave Mercier’s style, but I love that this one is so absolutely random even more.
    2.  Resume from EscaWorks
I’d never heard of this comic before this week, but I read through Andrei Esca’s entire archive. They’re great (and surprisingly clean).
    3. Taste Criteria from Small Change
I think this made me laugh because I’ve had similar conversations with people I thought were friends, only to find out that maybe we’re not such great friends…
    4. The Dark Truth from TWXXD
This one is a completely different style of comic that I’m not 100% on, but the joke is completely worth it. I like it a lot.
    5. Bear in camp. from Channelate
Ryan Hudson is hilarious. Most of the time completely inappropriate, but always hilarious. This one is an older one, but it’s too funny and I happened upon it again this week, so it’s in.

So there you have it. Those were my favorite comics from this week.

What were some of yours?

In 2007, Brian started the webcomic, The Underfold, blending his strange mix of geeky passions and his wacky sense of humor often leading to the most random of places. Since then, Brian has begun expanding The Underfold into a brand by Kickstarting a children's book about dinosaurs (What I Remember About Dinosaurs); starting a long-form series (The Ultimate Underfold); and beginning work on a new graphic novel (TBD)!

He is also a husband and a father (of two!) which he loves!
