Pitching Ideas

2011-01-28-Pitching-IdeasGreetings pitched Fold!

There has to be a reason that M. Night keeps getting movie deals. I can only assume that the producers think he’s writing comedies. Maybe we should all go back and watch his movies as if they were jokes…

I liked the one where the guy who has a rare disease the make his bones uber-brittle has to walk down a flight of stairs… and fails. Gold.

What was your favorite hilarious moment of an M. Night Shyamalan movie?

I can’t help but judge you! I’m sorry. Sixth Sense was good because it caught you off guard and was very classic filmmaking. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING after that has been one a downward spiral towards ridiculousness. I urge you to watch his movies as if they were comedies. Some of them are hilarious.

I did. I’m a fan of the style, but the story is… just kind of funny. I mean, so, it’s all about superheroes and how there’s always these archenemy types. So, they make a dude that can’t break, and a bad guy who breaks like a twig. Really? Exact opposites? Sheesh.

Well to be fair he did put the bad guy in a state of complete vulnerability to the point that the viewer sympathizes with him all the way up until the twist ending (which is basically all he does. I didn’t want to see The Last Airbender ruin my favorite animated show, but I’m sure he had a twist ending in there somewhere).

I don’t think all his movies are terrible. . . just. . . not great. . . I’d watch them at home. . . most likely. . . maybe. . . but yeah, I’m not rushing to see the newest. . . but a part of me wants to see what weirdness he comes up with next. . .
