So just the other day, No Man’s Sky went on sale for pre-order. It’s a video game that promises unlimited and infinite universe exploration using procedural generation to create a limitless number of planets, species, etc.
Event Horizon was a movie from 1997 about a ship that was…well, let me allow Dr. Weir to explain:
I created the Event Horizon to reach the stars, but she’s gone much, much farther than that. She tore a hole in our universe, a gateway to another dimension. A dimension of pure chaos. Pure… evil. When she crossed over, she was just a ship. But when she came back… she was alive! Look at her, Miller. Isn’t she beautiful?
It’s a wonderful romantic sci-fi about a scientist and his demonic spaceship as they devour crew members together trying to make their mark in this crazy world. If you like sci-fi horror, it’s one of the best in my book, but it’s pretty gruesome (you know, like clawing your eyes out because you WON’T NEED THEM WHERE YOU’RE GOING).

The movie spawned the phrase “corpsicles” which is a great word.
