This teaser is a 2-parter! For starters… Here’s another pull back image from the one we’ve been showing for a while now.
So finally, the orange dots are connected to something! Woo! What’s on fire? How exciting!
And for the second part, you’ll have to check out The Underfold on Facebook and Google Plus! The profile pictures for both of those profiles is what Brian looks like in the reboot!
2 weeks left, you guys! To celebrate the impending reboot, let’s rock it old school in the comments. If you had to rate your excitement in the form of an animal (in size or ferocity), what would it be?
With only 3 weeks left until the full-on reboot, please accept my humble apologies as my posts will be probably a bit slower. Think of it as the calm before the storm. Except that the story will be a torrent of fun and awesome raining down on your eyeballs. *fingers crossed*
So here’s an update for you. I have a schedule that I would like to keep throughout the week. And here is the preliminary version of that schedule:
Monday – Review – This will give you plenty of time to be able to read the review through the week and purchase a book if you’re interested (in both the book and supporting The Underfold by buying through our Amazon Affiliate links). I’ve been reading like a crazy fool to get these reviews for you. Here’s a picture of just some of the books coming up!
Tuesday – Ultimate Underfold – New pages of The Ultimate Underfold will be posted on Tuesdays and…
Wednesday – Featured Content – I did a test run of this for a friend’s Kickstarter, and I really like this idea. Each month, I will highlight some content that I enjoy. I will make roughly 4 posts about each featured content. Whether it be webcomics or what not. These are unsolicited and based on things that I just plain enjoy. The idea behind having 4 posts about each thing is to give you a full idea of the comic and giving everyone a chance to see it. Like I said, this is stuff that I like.
Thursday – Ultimate Underfold – New page of The Ultimate Underfold will post on Thursday too! That’s two pages per week for those of you counting!
Fridays – Open – I’m leaving Friday’s open to interpretation. This will be the day that I schedule BONUS COMICS and other random things that I come up with during the week (if anything).
Saturday and Sunday – Rest – Unless something really crazy happens, the weekend will be a time to relax, catch up on things, etc.
So there’s my tentative schedule for the upcoming reboot. So there’s going to be a lot of content coming your way! Hope you’re ready.
Dinosaur Giveaway Winner!
Congratulations to Todd McElmurry! Woo! Hope you like the book!
One extra update…
The Underfold is on Google+ and it would be super-awesome if you would +1 and circle it!
I’m giving away one free, hardcover copy of my children’s book, What I Remember About Dinosaurs! (a $18.99 value!)
The book is all about the nostalgic memories I have about how awesome dinosaurs are and some of the things that have changed since I was a kid (website). It’s perfect for parents and kids alike, but, as LeVar Burton used to say, don’t take my word for it…
“What a fantastic book and a great gift for curious kiddos! And really, kids aren’t the only ones who’ll really dig the book – I had a copy sitting on my desk at work and half a dozen of my co-workers picked it up to skim – wound up reading the whole thing, and then stopped me to tell me how much they loved it!” -Elizabeth
“I bought this book for my nephews and niece – they loved it…. Then bought a copy for myself on kindle because I was so amused. His art is fun, and the information packaged well (and humorously) for young kids and people like myself.” -Q
“This beautifully illustrated book is a great way to introduce kids to dinosaurs as we knew them. The facts throughout are simple to understand, and best of all, it’s fun to read and look at! Love it!” -Stacie P.
With only two days to go, our first Featured content, The Dragon Book and Other Stories, has now come to its last chance point in its Kickstarter lifespan. Since we’ve last updated about it, there has been an Axe Cop guest comic written by Michael Regina and his 4-year-old daughter, Story (who co-wrote The Dragon Book and Other Stories) and also a mention on the very popular (and one I hope to get my dinosaur book on sometime) io9 website!
Here’s a pretty touching part of Regina’s latest update:
You know, recently my youngest daughter had to go into the local children’s hospital for a fairly minor thing of surgery. Thank God it was all uneventful, but I was telling my wife that with the amount of anxiety I felt over something pretty small, I can’t imagine the anxiety these parents and kids are going through in some of these worse cases. I was shocked sitting in the waiting room by just how many parents and kids there were. It’s a pretty sobering thing to see. I don’t know if this book and our presence there will help much at all, but I sure do hope it will and I thank all of your for making this opportunity a reality.
Main update for this last chance:
The $4,000 stretch goal for upgrading the print quality has been lowered to $3,100!
If you’ve been waiting for the end of this Kickstarter campaign to back it, now’s the time! Only 2 days remain, and Kickstarter’s counting down in hours already! Woo!
Deleted scenes might be a little strong, even. These were rough drafts of the first scene of the reboot. You’ll notice some serious differences in Brian’s character design. After talking to a few people, they thought the changes were a bit unnecessary, and I agreed, so I’ve since changed it.
The other thing is that this whole sequence of events is different now. So, this gives away really nothing at this point, it’s just still kind of funny. So, enjoy it.
I mean, who hasn’t lied on their resume to get a job…? Ha!
Teaser #2!
Well, anyway, as if that wasn’t a treat enough… here’s your teaser for the upcoming Ultimate Underfold series!
As usual, you know I love mass speculation. So, let’s rock and roll! What’s this picture going to turn out to be?
