Talking to a friend recently, I mentioned that being bitten by radioactive ninjas is no more ridiculous than a high school student sneaking into a radioactive lab, where a spider has miraculously escaped it’s biohazard enclosure and lands on said student and for some reason decides to bite him. Or being blown up in a silo explosion full of gamma rays and instead of dying, you turn into a hulking green beast. Or just being a mutant with superpowers. I mean… come on.

Comics and their apparent lack of logic or tact, though, is one of the many reasons that I love comic books. We all just sort of accept the premise and move on. It’s the suspension of disbelief that we’re able to hold onto for comics, but yet can’t grab onto in movies.

I can’t wait to give you some more ridiculous comics to suspend your disbelief with! 😀

Isn’t this basically what they said about Spider Man’s transformation too? Like he was suddenly more handsome and better at everything? Meh. Either way, look how handsome Ninja Philip is.

Becoming a superhero seems like hard work. It’s not every day you come into contact with gamma radiation, radioactive spiders, mutating genes, or a space radiation.
