I forget the full story of how I came across Sketch Comedy, but it should be said that Jackson Ferrell (Twitter, Google Plus, Facebook) and I have become internet-friends. His comic is terrific! His disregard for the fourth wall makes the Silver Age Underfold look like a straightforward story, and it’s wonderful! His characters even interact with people in the comments!
For the month of June, I will be presenting a short story arc from Sketch Comedy that I feel accurately contains his storytelling, humor and art style rather well! I’ll also be posting questions from an interview with him in each post! Enjoy!

Interview Part 1:
Q. When did you know you wanted to make comics?
Labor Day, September 4th, 2006. I woke up at 7, went for an hour-long run, had breakfast, and made the very first Pungirls! strip. I’d had several comic ideas kicking around in my head for awhile, but when I had the day off from work, they just started pouring out of me. I knew Pungirls! was an incredibly stupid concept, but that Labor Day, I said to myself, “Let’s take this stupid concept and run with it.”
That said, making comics has always been part of my life. Even if I weren’t posting them on the web, I’d probably still be drawing them and sharing them with people.
Q. How did you get started with comics?
I started reading them in the paper when I was five. It was like learning a language: a kid hears people around him talking, and he starts trying to talk too. I mimicked what I saw in the paper, in the comic books, and started developing my own visual vocabulary.
