Pokemon GO at Work

I had to know what all the hubbub was about. I downloaded Pokemon GO yesterday. It’s fun. If you ever played Ingress, it’s that…with Pokemon. Now I have officially joined the hubbub of Pokemon GO.

Since this was my first ever Pokemon game, I’m unfamiliar with the shapes of them, so when it shows me a silhouette of one nearby, I’m sure some fans get excited. Me? I just look at it and think…how far is 3 footprint icons? Is it worth it? Probably not.

But hey, turns out that my office is right between a Pokestop and a Gym. So, whatever that means, I’m right in the middle.

Anyway, famous last words, but I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get sucked in too badly…

Listen…I hate to be that guy, but if you’re the kind of person who starts a sentence with “I hate to be that guy, but…” you ARE that guy.

It happens to the best of us. Sometimes it just needs to happen. Sometimes it needs to be said…but most of the time…it doesn’t.

Here’s the thing, you don’t have to be that guy. You could be helpful. If someone is making something stupid, provide constructive criticism instead of just insulting it. I know, I know. It’s crazy talk because we’re on the internet and the internet isn’t where you go to be helpful…but what if we did? Wouldn’t that be swell?
