I’ve been a fan of Mark Luetke’s (Twitter, Google+)work for a while. His webcomic 2816 Monument has been terrific, weird and offbeat. Perfect for a guy like me.

I just love how he’s got the crowd going here. It almost makes you feel sorry for Ninja Philip and his awesomeness. He’s just too cool. I just love this.

This comic (and perhaps a print at MegaCon 2014) came from me sitting at Creative Con last month next to a woman who had done some fantastic pinup illustrations of some super heroines’ rear ends. Sitting there, I just couldn’t help but think the world needed more parody of those classic things.

So, harkening back to one of the funniest Avengers parody posts, I sketched out this:

I sold this sketch to a pair of young girls, who asked for another just like it.

So, here’s hoping the world wants to see more of these Incredible Hulk buns.

When I asked Twitter for Ninja Philip pinups, Tayson Martindale was quick to jump at the chance. Probably because he has a crush on NP, BUT WHO DOESN’T, AMIRIGHT!?

It’s also nice to see the Silver Age Underfold style JB! It’s been a long time.

As for The Ultimate Underfold #2, I’ve got all the thumbnails done. Even the cover is ready to go! I’d just like to build myself a buffer first, but I’m also doing some freelance gigs so it’s been slow going. But it will pick up soon!

I’m looking to launch Issue #2 either next week, or the week after, so like Sam Jackson would say before a hurricane strikes an island full of dinosaurs… “Hold onto your butts.”
